Ryan McGinley’s “Body Loud.”

Photographs from Ryan McGinley’s show “Body Loud" on display at Galerie Perrotin in Paris until the 11th of January, 2014.  McGinley’s photographs exhibit ideals of freedom in vivid colors or along with explosions seemingly noting that youth and dreaming, those bare qualities so hard to grasp again are fleeing faster than we’ll ever be and so capture the ends of summer, right before winter’s dawn.  See more below:

A Walk Through Art History

I designed these shoes with a unique goal in mind: to create a shoe as a summation of an entire culture’s art. Each shoe possesses design qualities, color palettes, and designs only found in the respective culture. This project allowed me to investigate art historical cultures in a special way by challenging myself to translate an entire style (or series of styles) onto a single object.

Conveniently, I was able to use these designs as the concentration section of my AP Studio Art portfolio and received a score of a 5!

I possess full federal copyright of these designs.

Holy cow, these are absolutely amazing.

Kim Keever

“Miniature topographies inside 200-gallon fish tanks, based on traditional landscape paintings. Keever fills the tanks with water once he’s sculpted and placed the miniatures, and colored lights and pigments create dense, atmospheric environments. He views his works as an evolution of the landscape tradition and deliberately acknowledges the conceptual artifice.”

Food Pr0n of the Day: #PantonePairings
PantonePairings is an Instagram-based art project that presents popular food combinations in the form of Pantone-style color swatches. Launched by Minneapolis-based illustrator and designer David Schwen, the color swatch project was apparently a happy accident that came out of an attempt to remix common household object pairings. Prints of the delicious series are in the works. Hat tip to Juxtapoz.
